Dhi Qar oil company to be added to state firms

BAGHDAD - The initialing of the Garraf oil field contract Monday is the latest in oil development in southern Iraq’s Dhi Qar province, and the oil ministry soon plans to represent it with a state oil firm based in the provincial capital Nassiriya.

An investment tour of the Nassiriya field led by the Dhi Qar province government.

Garraf was awarded to Petronas with junior partner Japex to develop and the companies and ministry made an initial agreement on the contract, which is sent to the Council of Minister for approval.
