VICTORY!!! International Labor Solidarity Leads to Freedom for Young Iraqi Journalists

by Abdullah Muhsin General Federation of Iraqi Workers
March 11th, 2011

Thank you to the 452 people who took action to demand the release of the four young Iraqi journalists being illegally held by the Maliki regime.  Your quick action played a major role in securing their freedom.

From Abudullah Muhsin, International Representative of the General Federation of Iraqi Workers, based in London:

Just wanted to let you know that the four young comrades were released yesterday. Unfortunately two of them were severely beaten up by the security forces. It is worth noting that Amnesty International has reported their names. Thank you and others for help in highlighting their plight.

Thank you USLAW for solidarity and assistance in securing their release. It is the pressure that you and comrades in the peace movement exerted on the government of Iraq that saved the four young media workers.
